My husband goes regularly but I haven't been yet, David. I'm really keen to visit Lake Ohrid.

It's a lovely city in curious ways. The Old Bazaar Museum is interesting and, if memory serves, it's in a former caravanserai. There's of course the Mother Teresa Museum and just wandering the streets is interesting in itself. There's also an interesting Holocaust museum that focuses on the Jewish people of the region specifically.

Further afield I'd recommend a visit to Kruševo. It's quite a charming town in quite a slow way. The main draw is the Makedonium, a covid molecule-shaped memorial to Ilenden and against fascism. Kruševo was one of the highlights of a week-long trip in 2022.

Paul and I had a wonderful trip to Northern Macedonia last year. We enjoyed an overnight stop and a day wandering through the centre of Skopje. Lovely city.
