As I've researched my destinations, what I find online is often endless versions of the same thing. Of course I'm not doing serious historical research but I want to know a bit more than what I find on a city's website or on the tourism bureau website. I've got the best information on-site from banners that I photograph, signage, and pamphlets, plus have contacted municipal services that have sent me information from press kits or just different PDFs that they have created. But France has an especially developed network of services working on that sort of thing.
